Indonesian Families Name Their Children After Iranian Qari

IQNA – A number of families in Indonesia, due to their great admiration for prominent Iranian Quran reciter Hamed Shakernajad have named their children after him.

The Iranian Cultural Center in Indonesia is going to send gifts to the families.

Shakernejad, along with another renowned Iranian qari Ahmad Abolqassemi has been in Indonesia this Ramadan to attend Quranic programs in a number of major mosques in different cities of the Southeast Asian country.

The Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta and the Masjid Agung Al-Amjad in Tangerang, Banten Province, were among the mosques that hosted the Quranic events.

They were organized from March 14 to 18 with the cooperation of Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the Cultural Attaché of the Iranian Embassy in Indonesia, and the Mahfel TV Show.

The Quran recitations by the Iranian qaris have been warmly received by people at the mosques.
